I’m Odmar Daniel Olivares Hernández, CTO and Director of Technology at Arnian Group, a C-TPAT certified logistics company that moves freight across the San Diego, Tijuana, and Los Cabos corridor. I split my time between a server room and a boardroom, because at this company those are the same job.

I started in 2018 as a web developer, building and running a school’s website and Google Workspace environment in San Quintín. In 2021 I moved into IT support in Tijuana, fixing laptops and VPN connections. Within a year I was leading the help desk. A year after that I was running IT for four branches across Mexico. In August 2024 I moved to San Diego to take over technology for the group’s U.S. operations, and today I lead the team responsible for architecture, cybersecurity, and every internal system the business depends on.

I don’t hand off the interesting problems. I designed and built the company’s warehouse management system myself, FastAPI and PostgreSQL under the hood, RFID on the floor. I wrote the Python that automates import review. I re-architected the fleet-tracking platform and cut its running cost by more than 80%. I led the C-TPAT certification process with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which meant writing security policy as often as I wrote code. When the phishing simulations I ran on our own staff worked a little too well, I turned the results into a standing security awareness program instead of a one-off exercise.

Outside of Arnian, I build and run three independent SaaS products: Checazo, a time and attendance platform with facial recognition built around Mexican labor law; pdfVU, which reformats customs paperwork for VUCEM filings; and Tracknel, a white-label version of the fleet-tracking stack I built at work. I hold a completed master’s degree in cybersecurity from UNIR and a bachelor’s in business innovation and marketing from UTT, and I’m a member of ISC2, Certified in Cybersecurity.

I’m bilingual, Spanish native and English professional, and I’m based between Tijuana and San Diego.
